Making End-Of-Life Decisions for Your Pet
One of the most difficult decisions we face as pet owners, is “When is the right time to say goodbye?"
We meet our patients at many points along this journey. Sometimes, we are starting with a new diagnosis and you may have a lot of questions about what to expect in the days to come. Sometimes we are already aware that the quality of a pet's life is declining. It is never an easy decision, but knowing what to expect, and knowing what your options are can help you to make the best decision for your beloved companion. If you would like to

to discuss your pet's quality of life, we can discuss pet hospice care, the management of chronic symptoms, as well as peaceful euthanasia.
When you feel you are ready, we can help you and your family to say goodbye in the comfort of your home. Your pet will be in a calm, familiar place, surrounded by the ones they love. You will have time to spend time with your pet before we make arrangements for aftercare.
You have the option to bury your pet at home, or to have your pet cremated. At The Mobile Animal Clinic of Eastern Connecticut, we partner with a respectful company that will cremate each animal individually so you know that the ashes you receive are from your beloved companion. You may also choose a communal cremation, and the ashes are spread over "Field of Dreams" at Regency Forest Pet Memorial Cemetery.
